FRILUCHA

Frilucha is an all womxn, Brooklyn based band. Founded in 2016 by vocalist Lee Taylor, it is part of a larger, POC punk collective in Tijuana, the “Hecate Society.” They provide housing for members of the LGBTQ + community seeking asylum. Frilucha is a combination of Frida’s nickname, “Friducha” and “luchar,” or, “to fight.”

Frilucha enjoys a residency with NYC Dyke Bar Takeover, a grassroots charity group. Frilucha opened for Gaby Moreno in 2017 and headlined the House of Yes Prohibition Disco Party in 2019.

Frilucha is comprised of members Michaela Gomez (guitar), Etsuko Tajima (piano), Amanda Ruzza (bass), Lucianna Padmore (drums) and Lee Taylor (vocals).
